Fall 2020 - Secondary Humanities (History / Literature) Teachers

Coventry Christian Schools is seeking three (3) new Humanities Teachers for the fall 2020 academic year.  These are full-time teaching positions.  Coventry uses a primary source great books approach to the instruction of literature and history.  Our school teaches literature and history in an integrated fashion in grades 7 - 12, covering 3 major time periods (Ancient - 7th/10th, Medieval - 8th/11th, and Modernity - 9th/12th) in a cyclical fashion.  We are interested in hiring 3 new full time faculty to our Secondary Humanities Program which also includes the teaching of Logic/Rhetoric and Senior Thesis.

 

Job requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to sign and affirm the school's statement of faith

  • Active membership in a Bible-believing Christian Church

  • Bachelor's Degree in the humanities or appropriate field of study for Secondary instruction

  • ACCS, ACSI, or PA state certification

  • Experience teaching middle and/or high school students, preferably in a classical Christian setting.

  • Dynamic and Engaging personality

  • Comfort and skill using technology

Fall 2020 - Secondary Mathematics Teacher

Coventry Christian Schools is seeking one (1) new Secondary Mathematics Teacher for the fall 2020 academic year.  This position is a full-time teaching position.  Coventry's secondary mathematics program begins in 7th grade with Pre-Algebra and the school offfers a variety of math courses including: Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, AP Calculus, Statistics, College Algebra, AP Economics, Accounting, and Personal Finance.  Coventry is looking to expand our mathematics department in the fall of 2020 to enable us to split and track more of our math courses to better serve our students.

Fall 2020 - 6th Grade Teacher

Coventry Christian Schools is seeking a 6th grade teacher for the fall 2020 academic year.  This position is a full-time teaching position.  Coventry's 6th grade is a transitional year as our students move out of Grammar School and into the Logic/Rhetoric Schools.  A successful 6th grade teacher will be prepared to teach multiple disciplines.  For the fall 2020 school year, Coventry will have a double section of 6th grade and our new teacher will need to partner with the other primary 6th grade teacher to deliver an excellent spiritual & academic education.

Fall 2020 - Latin & Writing Teacher

Coventry Christian Schools is seeking a Latin & Writing teacher for the fall 2020 academic year. This is a full-time teaching position. Coventry uses the Latin for Children by Classical Academic Press curriculum in grades 3 - 8. In addition, Coventry used the Institutes for Excellence in Writing curriculum for students in grades 3 - 7. This position would be responsible for teaching all Latin courses in addition to one or two of our writing courses.

3rd - 7th grade Latin is taught part time 2 or 3 times per week, depending on grade.  8th grade Latin is taught daily.  IEW is taught beginning in the Grammar School and through 7th grade.  The Latin & Writing teacher will be responsible for helping to integrate our Latin instruction to our Grammar and Writing instruction.

Job requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to sign and affirm the school's statement of faith

  • Active membership in a Bible-believing Christian Church

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field appropriate for Latin / Writing / Education instruction

  • ACCS, ACSI, or PA state certification

  • Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students, preferably in a classical Christian setting.

  • Prior experience in Latin and IEW curriculum strongly preferred

  • Dynamic and Engaging personality

  • Comfort and skill using technology
