Preschool Academic Programs

At Coventry Christian Schools, we seek to provide a loving and nurturing environment, as well as prepare your child developmentally for their future academic growth. 

Infant & Toddler Program 

Our goals for the infant & toddler program are: 

 â€¢ Language development through communication with words and    phrases, following simple directions, repeating rhymes and    

   songs, naming objects, and enjoying stories

 â€¢ Physical awareness through head control and mobility, crawling,    pulling up, rolling over, walking, climbing and dancing

 â€¢ Development of fine motor skills by using basic hand-eye  

   coordination, completing puzzles, coloring, and building with

   blocks

ʉۢ Social and emotional growth by encouraging simple make

   believe play, playing alongside others, and showing affection 

Preschool Program 

Our goals for the preschool program are: 

 â€¢ Recognition of colors, shapes, letters, and patterns 

ʉۢ Gross-motor skills through playing ball, jumping, walking forward and

   backward on a balance beam, and climbing on ladders and stairs  

ʉۢ Fine-motor skills by forming play dough, drawing shapes, stringing beads,

   using scissors, and creating simple drawings 

ʉۢ Social and emotional growth by encouraging participation in group

   activities, verbalizing feelings, understanding taking turns, and engaging

   with others in play activities

Pre-Kindergarten Program 

Our goals for the pre-kindergarten program are: 

ʉۢ Reading readiness through identifying letters and their sounds, rhyming words,

   speaking in full sentences, and responding to books appropriately

ʉۢ Basic math skills through understanding the value of numbers, simple math terms,

   and basic shapes  

ʉۢ Development of basic Kindergarten skills, such as printing first and last name,

   reproducing basic shapes, recognizing colors, and managing own clothing (zippers,

   buttons, etc.)

ʉۢ Social and emotional growth through sharing with others, treating others with

   respect, and displaying self-control and confidence
